The Prevention Board's work is specific to universal, primary prevention programs and initatives. Primary Prevention focuses on the general public, addressing root causes and underlying factors to stop child maltreatment prior to occurrence. Primary prevention activities with a universal focus are broadly accessible and seek to benefit all members of a population regardless of risk level.
Our work and expertise does not include the field of Child Protective Services (CPS). CPS is administered at the State of Wisconsin Department of Children and Families through a county based program. To report child abuse, contact your local county CPS agency. Local county CPS Contact information is located on the Department of Children and Families's website.
