The Wisconsin Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention partners with parents and caregivers to include their voice and perspective in various aspects of our work.
Training: The Prevention Board works with parents and caregivers to provide Bringing the Protective Factors to Life in Your Work training to local communities. Each certified trainer is required to co-present with a parent. If you are interested in learning more about this training or would like to bring the training to your community, visit our Plan A Training page.
Public Awareness: Parents, caregivers and family support professionals were key partners in developing the Five for Families, public awareness campaign on the protective factors. The Prevention Board conducted focus groups to gather input from parents across the state. The campaign website includes interviews with Wisconsin parents and grandparents sharing their understanding of the Five Strengths and how focusing on these strengths has benefitted their families.
Policy and System Change: The Prevention Board invites parents and caregivers to participate on statewide committees and workgroups.
