The Wisconsin Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Board staff are responsible for carrying out the day-to-day operations of the Prevention Board. The Prevention Board recruits highly-skilled team members who are passionate about preventing maltreatment and strengthening families in Wisconsin.
Rebecca K. Murray, Associate Director
Rebecca Murray joined the Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Board in 2011 and is now the Associate Director. As the previous Program Officer, Rebecca administered the grants program and provided technical assistance to the Prevention Board grantees. Rebecca brings years of experience with grants, project management, and administration management to the Prevention Board. Rebecca received her Bachelor’s in Communication Arts and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire.
Becky S. Mather, Prevention Education Coordinator
Becky joined the Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Board in 2015 and became our Prevention Education Coordinator in 2016. Previously, Becky worked at the University of Wisconsin-Extension as an Outreach Specialist supporting county-based, family educators. She holds a Master’s Degree in Human Development and Family Studies, is a Certified Family Life Educator and has 20 years of experience working with children and families.
Therese D. Scherrer, Fund Development Specialist
Therese re-joined the Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Board in 2016, returning to the Fund Development position she held during 2011-2014. Previously, as the Community Impact Director at United Way of Greater Duluth, Therese managed resource development and community investment. Therese holds Bachelor’s degrees in Communications and Computer Science and a Master’s degree in Urban Studies – Social Policy. She brings 20 years of non-profit and public resource development experience focused on strengthening children and families.
Kris M. Moelter, Policy Advisor
Kris joined the Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Board in 2016 as a policy advisor. Kris has 25 years of experience working in justice and behavioral health systems, previously serving as a policy analyst for the Wisconsin Office of Justice Assistance and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, the director of the Jefferson County Delinquency Prevention Council, and as an attorney representing clients in the criminal and juvenile justice systems. Kris received her law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Hamline University.
Nikki L. Braconier, Executive Staff Assistant
Nikki joined the Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Board in 2015. Previously, Nikki was an Executive Assistant/Support Manager for a non-profit, human services agency providing program, operations and HR support. Nikki holds her Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Family Studies and has over 15 years of customer service/office management experience.
